Job Title: Post-doctoral Research Scholar

Job Summary:

The post-doctoral research scholars will serve as a technical point of contact for systems project related to design and development of wearable sensors, with two specific focuses for two positions: 1) on signal processing and analytics, 2) on circuits and systems. The ideal candidate will be recent graduate with a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with strong publication track records in the area of wearable sensors and computer design. The candidate will be expected to work with the state-of-the-art wearable technological solutions in unison with a design team/ a talented group of researchers to create signal processing solutions mostly for wearable sensor data. The team at Texas A&M is a highly dynamic group working on cutting edge technologies related to design and development of wearables sensors and wearable computers. The projects are highly visible, and the candidate will have the opportunity to establish a strong foundation for her or his career.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in research in the areas of design and development of wearable sensors and computers.
  • Performs, reviews, and implements multi-disciplinary designs of first-of-a kind experimental systems and components.
  • Participates in component testing and prepares documentation in support of the design, development, and testing of those components.
  • Lead and assist in publications and preparation of patents.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary and multi-site projects and lead subgroup of researchers.

Required Education:

  • PhD Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of circuits and systems for wearable sensors.
  • Expert knowledge on state-of-the-art signal processing and machine learning tools, and proficiency in C, Python and MATLAB.
  • Expert/moderate knowledge of embedded software and firmware development, including C and C++.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Research Engineering Associate III will act as the principal for the firmware component/hardware of various embedded devices, mostly in the form of wearables and smart watches. The individual will work in unison with a design team/ a talented group of researchers to create various hardware and software components. The team at Texas A&M is a highly dynamic group working on cutting edge technologies related to design and development of wearables sensors and wearable computers.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs, reviews, and implements multi-disciplinary designs of first-of-a kind experimental systems and components.
  • Participates in component testing and prepares documentation in support of the design, development, and testing of those components.
  • Conducts tests, documents test results, and develops client presentation.
  • Provides user training and technical support.
  • Assists in the publication of papers and applications for patents, etc.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Six years of related experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of embedded software and firmware development, including C and C++.
  • Ability to create and read schematics and debug digital hardware using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, or similar tools for troubleshooting.
  • Expert knowledge integrating software and hardware using embedded data bus protocols, USB, UART, CAN, SPI, I2C for Microchip, Nordic Semi and ST Micro microcontrollers.
  • Solid knowledge of analog/mixed-signal circuits such as operational amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters (ADC), digital-to-analog converters (DAC) and power management circuits.
  • Knowledge of low power wireless protocols including Bluetooth low energy (BLE)

Job Title: Research Associate

Job Description

The Research Associate will coordinate human subject studies and clinical testing and serve as an interface between various technical, governmental and administrative entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with clinical and translational research databases
  • Protection of human subjects
  • Initiate, process and closure of studies
  • Prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions
  • Obtain approval from IRB
  • Obtain informed consent
  • Subject recruitment & retention
  • Manage participant/patient charts and Electronic Data Capture
  • Process and take actions on reports generated through the data collection
  • AE and SAE reporting
  • Case reporting and forms
  • Adhere to OSHA & HIPAA regulations
  • Work with the state-of-the-art technological solutions and data collection paradigms.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

Required Experience:

  • Two years of related professional experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Clinical research experience and the ability to work in a high volume, multi-tasking environment while providing accurate participant/patient data.
  • Experience with clinical and translational research databases include REDCap will be ideal.
