BioWatch Photos and Videos

Overview

The BioWatch is a wrist-worn device that integrates electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensors to estimate pulse wave velocity (PWV). Pulse wave velocity is known to be correlated with blood pressure, so this system represents a potential solution for continuous, convenient and non-invasive measurement of blood pressure. In addition, the BioWatch includes a 9-axis motion sensor that can track the movements of the arm for applications of posture detection and motion artifact rejection. The BioWatch is powered by a rechargeable battery and can transmit the ECG and PPG signals over Bluetooth to a PC. The signals from the BioWatch can also be used to measure heart rate and blood oxygenation.
